  • Played college basketball at Emporia State University from 1983-1986 where he was a shooting guard; During his senior season at ESU he was named All-CSIC (Central States Intercollegiate Conference) honorable mention and “Sixth Man of the Year”; He averaged 4.7 points and 1.3 rebounds per game for the 31-5 Hornet team that won the CSIC championship and advanced to the sweet 16 in the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) tournament;
  • Competed in NHRA Comp Eliminator in 2002 and 2003; Held class record in C-Altered: 7.39 seconds at 182.55 mph
  • Prior to going racing full time in 2010, managed and operated medical businesses in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, area
