The victory celebration has been going on for a year at Vandergriff Motorsports, and this weekend, defending AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals Top Fuel champion Bob Vandergriff Jr. will take another run at collecting NHRA hardware from Texas Motorplex. Joining Vandergriff as associate sponsors for this weekend’s race are Holt Cat, the nation’s largest Caterpillar dealer in the continental U.S., and SourceOne Engine Equipment.
Holt Cat is no stranger to NHRA Championship Drag Racing and recognizes the value of business networking through the sport with Vandergriff’s primary sponsor, C&J Energy Services, and its subsidiary, Total Equipment and Service. SourceOne is newer to drag racing but has greatly enjoyed the business opportunities that have developed due to its relationships with Holt Cat, C&J Energy Services, and Total Equipment and Service.
In addition to being a Top Fuel driver, Vandergriff is the team owner and lead marketing representative who helps connect his sponsors to each other. “It’s funny ... when you talk to companies during the week, it’s all about business and gaining market share. When you get everyone out to the track for a race, they relax, have fun, watch 300-plus-mph dragsters, and talk just enough business to set the wheels in motion for when the event is over,” said Vandergriff.
Holt Cat and SourceOne will be prominently featured on the Total Equipment and Service Top Fuel dragster driven by J.R. Todd. Vandergriff Motorsports has had Todd in its second car at multiple races this season and is ready to have two chances at the Top Fuel title again in Dallas. Vandergriff added, “I’m going to give it everything our team has to repeat as event winners, but if we don’t win, I’m going to be the No. 1 fan for J.R. Todd at the race for sure.”
