Many NHRA fans and racers from the New Hampshire area attended the celebration of the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series coming to New England Dragway and gathered around Terry McMillen’s Top Fuel dragster to show their support.
NHRA President Tom Compton and Joe Lombardo of New England Dragway, along with several state and local government officials, stood on the steps of the Statehouse in Concord, N.H., Thursday morning to celebrate Wednesday’s announcement that the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series will be coming to New Hampshire in 2013.
A crowd assembled adjacent to the Statehouse arch and was joined by Top Fuel driver Terry McMillen, who displayed his 7,000-horsepower Amalie Oil dragster. Following comments by Compton, McMillen, and Lombardo, officials from NHRA, New England Dragway, and the state of New Hampshire posed for photos with the dragster in front of the Statehouse. Later, the group was joined by many NHRA racers and fans for additional photos with the dragster in the courtyard.
