NHRA announces Traxxas Shootout ticket package for Mac Tools U.S. Nationals

NHRA and Traxxas have teamed up to offer fans a special Traxxas Shootout ticket package for the 58th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals presented by Auto-Plus at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis Aug. 29-Sept. 3.

The Mac Tools U.S. Nationals is the biggest and most tradition-rich event on the 23-race NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series schedule, and Traxxas, the fastest name in radio control, is bringing a new element to the event this season, the inaugural NHRA Traxxas Nitro Shootout. The Traxxas Nitro Shootout is a $100,000 specialty bonus race for both Top Fuel and Funny Car. In honor of the Traxxas Nitro Shootouts, NHRA is offering a special Saturday, Sunday, and Monday ticket-bundle package at a discount rate for fans to catch the Traxxas Nitro Shootout on Saturday and Sunday and see the event champions crowned during Monday’s final eliminations.

“We really wanted to give fans a chance to catch all of the on-track competition throughout Labor Day weekend, and what a better way to do it than team up with Traxxas for a special Traxxas Shootout ticket package,” said Wes Collier, general manager, Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis. “With all the on-track action at Indy, we wanted to give fans the opportunity to purchase ticket packages at a discounted rate so they can get the most of their time at the track.”

Fans who are interested in reserved seats can purchase the three-day ticket package for $130, a $50 savings, and fans who are interested in general-admission seats can purchase the three-day set for $114, a $36 savings. Kids 12 and younger get in free with a paying general-admission adult. To purchase these ticket packages, call the NHRA Ticketing Department, 800-884-NHRA (6472), or log on to www.NHRAtix.com/TraxxasShootout.

Not only will fans who purchase the Traxxas Shootout ticket package get tickets to the three days of heart-pounding NHRA action at a discounted rate, but they will also receive a 10 percent discount coupon for any Traxxas product purchased at the event and be entered to win a Traxxas Slash 2wd radio-controlled truck (#5803, valued at $265).

These ticket packages are available for a limited time, June 21-July 5. The grand-prize winner will be selected on July 16.
