As he prepares for his debut in Top Fuel competition at the 2023 NHRA Midwest Nationals, 19-year-old Cody Krohn of CK Racing is making the momentous occasion even more impressive as he’s already signed two sponsors to support his sporting endeavor, Rio Energy and JBS Equipment.

“I am beyond excited for my first chance to race Top Fuel. It’s been my dream since I was 8 years old and first got behind the wheel of an NHRA Jr. Dragster,” Krohn shared. “My support system throughout this journey has been incredible, and I’m so thankful for this opportunity made possible by my parents.”

Krohn’s entire life has been spent preparing for the dream-come-true outing, thanks in part to plenty of expert mentorship from his veteran drag racer father, Rich Krohn, as well as the owner and namesake of Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School, Frank Hawley. Krohn worked hard to obtain multiple NHRA competition licenses via the school, including Super Comp, Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Nostalgia Top Fuel, and Nostalgia Funny Car. In February 2023, Krohn licensed in Larry Dixon’s Top Fuel dragster.

With three NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster runner-up titles already earned by Krohn in 2023, it’s no surprise that his accomplishments are being recognized and celebrated by Rio Energy and NHRA Pro Mod racer Justin Bond’s JBS Equipment, as both have joined on to support Krohn’s new Top Fuel campaign.

“Cody is the whole package — bright, young, and enthusiastic,” Hawley affirmed. “He displays driving skills beyond his age and experience, and I can’t wait to see him compete against the Pros in St. Louis.”

It’s Krohn’s drive and determination that have gotten him to this point, to the pinnacle of performance, and there’s no question that his motivation will continue to propel his career to even greater heights as he hopes to pursue nitro racing full time.
